Resize PDF: what to know before you start
Custom sizes are in millimetres
Choose Custom and enter width and height in millimetres. For reference: A4 is 210 x 297, A5 is 148 x 210, Letter is 216 x 279 and Legal is 216 x 356.
This is where non-standard requirements are met - a specific trim size for print, or an unusual form factor a client has specified.
Batch resizing
Add several PDFs and each is resized independently, then returned together in a ZIP with each file renamed to record its new size. Nothing is merged - invoice1.pdf becomes invoice1-a4.pdf and stays its own document.
This is the fast way to standardise a folder of documents that arrived from different sources at different sizes.
Resizing does not shrink file size
A common misunderstanding: resizing changes page dimensions, not the amount of image data inside. A 10 MB scanned document resized to A4 is still roughly 10 MB. If you need a smaller file, use a compression tool - the two operations are unrelated.
Frequently asked questions
Can I resize several PDFs at once?
Yes. Every file is resized separately and you download them all as one ZIP - no files are merged together.
What units does the custom size use?
Millimetres. A4 is 210 x 297 mm and Letter is 216 x 279 mm, for reference.
Does resizing affect file size?
Barely. Resizing changes the page dimensions, not the image data. Use a Compress tool if you need a smaller file.
Is this tool free?
Yes. Every tool on WorkSathi is free to use with no sign up, no watermark on your result and no daily limit.
What happens to my files?

Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The tools work in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS - there is nothing to install.
