PDF to JPG: what to know before you start
Choosing a resolution
DPI sets the pixel dimensions of each exported page. 96 DPI suits on-screen viewing, 150 DPI is a good general default, 200-300 DPI is print quality, and above that you are generating very large files for little visible gain.
File size grows roughly with the square of DPI, so doubling from 150 to 300 quadruples the output. Choose based on where the images are going, not on the assumption that higher is always better.
JPG versus PNG for pages
JPEG is the right choice for pages that are mostly photographs or scans - it compresses continuous tone efficiently.
For pages that are mostly text, line art or charts, PNG is better. JPEG compression produces visible artefacts around sharp high-contrast edges, which is exactly what text is made of. The PDF to PNG tool is the same converter with a lossless output.
What you get back
One image per page, named with a zero-padded page number so they sort correctly everywhere. A single page downloads directly; multiple pages arrive as a ZIP. Select a page range in the options to export only part of the document.
