Frequently asked questions
How do I edit text in a PDF?
Open the PDF here, make sure Edit text is selected, click the line you want to change and type. You can change the font, size, bold, italic and colour from the toolbar. Press Download PDF when you are done.
Is the old text really removed?
Yes. When you change or erase text, the original characters are deleted from the page content, not hidden under a white box. Searching or copying the downloaded PDF will not find the old words. The rare exception is text stored inside an embedded form object; if that happens, the editor tells you the area was covered instead.
Will my edited text match the original font?
Closely, not exactly. The editor uses a standard sans, serif or monospace face with the same size, weight, style and colour as the original. Fonts embedded in a PDF usually contain only the characters already used, so they cannot type new words reliably.
Can I edit a scanned PDF?
A scan is a picture of the page, so there is no text to click. Run it through OCR PDF first to recognise the text, or use White-out and Add text to cover and replace parts of it.
